WOMEN GET FREE MRT, LRT RIDES TODAY

IN line with today’s celebration of the International Women’s Day, all women will get free rides on MRT and LRT-2 from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Also, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) partnered with the Office of the Ombudsman to provide 50 percent discount on the application fee for Ombudsman Clearance for today (Tuesday) at the central office and at all regional offices nationwide. Similarly, the National Museum is giving all female visitors free admission throughout the month. The perks and activities are part of PCW’s program in celebration this year with theme “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda.” The Philippine Government, under Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, declares March as Women’s Role in History Month. Republic Act 6949, on the other hand, declares March 8 as National Women’s Day.
