AMID the growing number of people in the Philippines who are suffering from poor vision, eye care remains the least priority of Filipinos when it comes to public health.

In August last year, the Department of Health (DoH) found out that more than two million people nationwide were blind or suffering from poor vision. It reported that an estimated 332,150 people in the country were bilaterally blind while the number of persons with bilateral low vision had reached 2.179 million.
