‘FEU made me what I am today’

(Ramon S. Ang, vice chairman, president and COO of San Miguel Corp., was conferred the degree of Doctor of Business Engineering Honoris Causa, by his alma mater, the Far Eastern University during the 90th General Commencement Exercises on June 27, 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Ang, who graduated from FEU in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, was conferred the honorary degree for “embodying the FEU core values of fortitude, excellence and uprightness.” The following is the commencement address that Ang gave before the FEU Class of 2018.)

BE proud. The Far Eastern University (FEU) has produced the best and the brightest graduates: Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban, Henry Sy of the SM, Lucio Tan of PAL, Alfonso Yuchengco of RCBC, and Ramon Sy of Asia United Bank. FEU has competed and can compete with the best and brightest of graduates from UP, Ateneo, La Salle, Harvard even! In every field we have excelled.
