No senator wants to sponsor second tax reform package

THE Department of Finance (DOF) may have a difficult time fulfilling its target to have the second package of the comprehensive tax reform program of the administration passed this year because no senator is willing to sponsor the proposed measure, according to Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.

Zubiri said that as of the moment, the package 2 of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train 2) has “very little” support from members of the Senate and “no senator wants to sponsor the measure at this time.”
