AMID the rising incidences of violence and crime in the country, administration Sen. Franklin Drilon on Tuesday filed a measure that seeks to regulate carrying of firearms for civilians.

Drilon filed Senate Bill 129, or the Firearms Regulation Act. Under the bill, only those who are directly engaged in military, police and law enforcement functions will be authorized to carry firearms.
