LEONCIO P. DERIADA, the Iloilo province-based author and editor whose works in three genres and five languages, and whose efforts in nurturing generations of writers from Panay island earned him wide recognition as the father of contemporary West Visayan literature, died on Wednesday afternoon. He was 81.
