PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte named a Court of Appeals justice and former public attorney to the Supreme Court to complete the 15-man tribunal.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Henry Paul Inting will replace the position vacated by now Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin in November 2018.

Inting is the first public attorney who was appointed Supreme Court justice.

Inting also served as prosecutor of Quezon City under the Department of Justice (DOJ).

He also became a Metropolitan Trial Court judge in Quezon City, promoted to the Regional Trial Court (RTC) before he was named to the appellate court.

Inting graduated elementary and high school from the Ateneo De Davao. In College, he transferred to the San Carlos University where he took up Psychology as a pre-Medicine course.

Inting then decided to take up law and returned to Ateneo de Davao College.

His sister is incumbent Comelec Commissioner Socorro Inting and his father was former Davao City Judge Enrique Inting whose prosecutor then was Duterte.
