DENPASAR, Indonesia: A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off the Indonesian holiday island of Bali on Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said, causing residents to flee their homes and damaging several buildings.
The quake hit at 7:18 a.m. (8:18 a.m. in Manila) and was centered 82.1 kilometers (50.9 miles) southwest of the island’s capital Denpasar, according to the USGS.
