The power of two philanthropists at Child Haus

It happened one day when Hans Sy, a scion of SM Supermalls magnate Henry Sy Sr., chanced upon an emotional and tearful Ricky Reyes on a television news report as he was talking about the sad prospect of losing Child Haus, a temporary shelter for children with cancer which Ricky founded in 2004. They were told by the new management of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to vacate their premises located inside the PCSO compound in Quezon City.

Soon after and during one of Reyes’ visits to the then ailing Henry Sy, Ricky was asked by Hans about what he saw on TV. Relating to Hans his predicament and the uncertainty of finding a replacement home for the sick children, Hans was then thinking of what to do to help.
