RAINS are expected to prevail over parts of Luzon and Visayas on Monday as tropical storm “Hanna” slightly intensified and was enhancing the southwest monsoon or habagat, the state-run weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) spotted tropical depression “Hanna” at 945 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, moving in a northward direction and maintaining a speed of 15 kilometers per hour (kph). It slightly intensified with increased maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of 90 kph.
Monsoon rains are expected over Cavite, Batangas and Mimaropa (Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan). The southwest monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cenral Luzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas and the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon). The trough of Hanna is expected to affect Cagayan Valley
Only localized thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.
Gale warning remained in Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Marinduque, Romblon, Quezon including Polilio Island, Camarines Provinces, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras,Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Bohol, Cebu, Biliran, Leyte Provinces, Samar Provinces, Dinagat Islands, Siargao Island, Surigao Provinces, and Davao Oriental.
