PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte tapped William Dar to head the Department of Agriculture anew as its secretary, his long-time aide-turned-Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go said in a text on Monday.

Dar will replace former Agriculture chief Emmanuel Piñol who was appointed to the Mindanao Development Authority.

Dar was also the former director-general of International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, an international organization, which conducts agricultural research for rural development.
