Hydro firm starts building road in Kapangan

KAPANGAN, Benguet: The Cordillera Hydroelectric Power Corp. (Coheco) started constructing the proposed 3.1-kilometer access road from Balacbac to the Cuba junction, which is part of the company’s commitment to the host communities in the municipality. Coheco is the proponent of a 60-megawatt run-of-river hydro project to be constructed within the jurisdiction of Kapangan and Kibungan towns. Coheco legal counsel Jingboy Atonen said the company already started constructing the proposed access road to link isolated communities to the Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun road and help in easing the transport of agricultural produce to the La Trinidad market.
