THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has acquired new equipment and vehicles amounting to P784,688,248.21 for its Capability Enhancement Program (CEP).

“This will be distributed in different line units of the PNP and the different police stations and of course our new recruits who are performing visibility patrols,” PNP chief Oscar Albayalde said during the blessing of the equipment at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Lt. Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa, the chairman of the National Headquarters Bids and Awards Committee, said the 95 units of 4×4 utility vehicles would be issued to police provincial headquarters and city police offices while the 10,000 units of Canik 9mm pistols would be issued to newly recruited personnel.

Gamboa added that 78 Negev light machine guns, 3,684 helmets and 2,255 tactical vests would be distributed to police mobile forces along with 568,226 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
