The digital natives and visual creatures Generation Z (Gen Zs) crave authenticity and are aware of social issues, according to global measurement company, Nielsen.
The young generation of shoppers whose older bracket are in university or may have just entered the workforce is also the biggest segment in the country’s population at over 40 million, based on the Philippine Statistics Authority 2015 census.
“The biggest misconception is that Gen Z is exactly like the generation before them. While both thrive in the digital era, there are distinct characteristics of Gen Z that make them unique.” Nielsen Philippines Executive Director-Shopper Insight Lead Lou-Ann Navalta shared.
Navalta will share more about the qualities and demands of this future consumer segment at the 26th National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo (NRCE) on August 15 to 16 at the MoA SMX Convention Center to help retailers understand this upcoming batch of consumers and future-proof their business.
Aside from topic on the Gen Z as the future consumers, NRCE will also present timely topics and practical insights on current issues affecting retail anchored on the theme Retail Reimagined.
