Duterte signed on August 8 Republic Act (RA) 11370, a copy of which was released to the media only on Wednesday.

The Catholic Church celebrates the Virgin Mary’s birth on September 8.

In 2017, Duterte signed RA 10966 declaring December 8 of every year a special non-working holiday to commemorate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The new law takes effect 15 days from its publication in the Official Gazette and in at least one newspaper of general circulation.
