Kidapawan holds ‘eat all you can’ fruits festival

COTABATO CITY: Hundreds of foreign and local tourists feasted on more than 4,000 kilos of assorted fruits as Kidapawan City started its fruit Timpupo (Harvest) Festival and founding anniversary on Thursday. The “fruit lovers” paid only a P50 ticket to enter the fruit galore site in the city plaza and took turns in eating mangosteen, durian, lanzones, and rambutan, among other fruits. The participants came from various parts of the country, including foreign tourists who visibly enjoyed tropical fruits from Kidapawan, more known as the “city of fruits and highlands.”Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the “eat all you can” event is happening for four days during the week-long celebration. Evangelista said more “eat all you can” event is scheduled in the coming days.
