Luis Miguel Castro led the Philippine Team to a victorious campaign in the 2019 Indonesia Amateur Open on August 13 to 16 at the Gading Raya Golf Club in Baten, Indonesia.
Castro finished with a 10-under par 278 to emerge individual champion in the 25th edition of the Amateur Men’s Open.
Singaporeans Lucius Toh and Low Wee Ji, finished second and third, respectively, after submitting identical 8-under par 280 cards.
Castro had an impressive run tin the tilt with under-par scores of 69-67-71-71.
Sean Jean Ramos settled for a three-way tie at No. 6 with a 285 total while Gabriel Tomas Manotoc settled for a shared 13th with a 292.
The Philippine contingent, composed of Castro, Ramos, and Manotoc was declared team champion after scoring a 423-aggregate followed by Indonesia with 423.
Philippines’ Tomita Arejola, meanwhile, finished 11th in the women’s category with a 10-over par 226 card.
