THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), in collaboration with the Quezon City government, has deployed 30 “Libreng Sakay” (free ride) buses along Commonwealth Avenue in response to the shortage of public transportation in the area.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Tuesday shared the news on her Facebook page after receiving the message from Ariel Inton, head of the Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection.
Meanwhile, Elmo DG. San Diego, head of the city’s Department of Public Order and Safety, said that his office would continue working with the MMDA in finding permanent solutions to the problem.
San Diego said these buses would operate from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. SAMANTHA TEBRIO
