America’s famed lifestyle expert, award-winning television host, entrepreneur and bestselling author Martha Stewart toured Manila with Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso and Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat on Monday.
Manila City’s Public Information Office posted photos of the 78-year-old American celebrity having lunch with Moreno and Puyat at the National Museum of Natural History. Seasoned restaurateur and 2016 Asia’s Best Female Chef Margarita Forés designed the special menu, serving them a variety of the Philippines’ freshest catch, as well as lechon, laing, bibingka, suman, binakol na manok, inihaw na apahap sa dahon and bistek Tagalog.
Fueled for sightseeing, Martha and her group visited the city’s famous landmarks, including Intramuros, the Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago and San Agustin Church.
Stewart is in the country for the latest ANC Leadership Series to be held on August 20 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
Kane Choa, head of ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications Division, which also handles publicity for the conglomerate’s cable news channel ANC, said Stewart “will share her story of success and business philosophy with the country’s business executives, entrepreneurs and students in a forum moderated by ANC anchor Karen Davila.”
Before becoming the “how-to guru” on all things home and living, Stewart developed her early business training as a stockbroker. She ventured into a successful catering business and went on to publish best-selling books. She later published the magazine Martha Stewart Living, which became the basis for her hit TV series of the same name.
Her leadership talk for ANC on Tuesday is titled “A Conversation with Entrepreneur and Lifestyle Legend Martha Stewart.”
