- Two of 3 members of the Magdaleno Pacia Group, a notorious kidnap-for-ransom syndicate preying on Chinese, were killed in a police operation in Indang, Cavite on Wednesday morning.
The supposedly implementation of search warrants at the safe house of the suspects turned to an armed confrontation, killing three alleged members of the kidnapping group at Barangay Kayquit at 2:48 a.m.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) identified one of the suspects as alias “Vince,” henchman of former Police Officer 3 Magdaleno Fernandez Pacia — the leader of the group.
The other two killed suspects remained unidentified. Pacia was not present in the operation.
Based on the report of PNP AKG, the Pacia Group is operating in National Capital Region (NCR) and Luzon. Allegedly, the leader was in cahoots with a Chinese kidnapping syndicate targeting fellow Chinese, business owners and rich individuals.
Last June 7, the group was allegedly involved in the kidnapping of Zhen Zhang and Renxian Luon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The group was also linked in the abduction of a certain Li Chao last May 18 in Pasay City demanding RMB 50 million.
The group was believed responsible for the abduction of Lin Xiao Sen, Yan Wen Long and Lin Long Hu last April 5 in Malate, Manila, and the
kidnappings of Fangmei Zhu and Faqiang Guo on January 14.
The Pacia group was repeatedly involved in the kidnapping of Wanfeng Liu and Chen Yefeng on December 18 last year in Pasay City. Other group’s alleged victims were Cai Binbin alias Charlie Chua and Zhang Rongbin.
Pacia group maintained a safe house in Cavite and used a stolen vehicle.
Recovered from the suspects were a red Suzuki Ertiga, a M-16 Rifle, a beretta pistol and a .45 pistol.
