CEBU CITY: Anti-narcotics elements arrested four drug suspects who yielded more than P9 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust in Barangay Mambaling on Friday. Police identified the suspects as Benerando Gemperoso, 27; his brother Joven, 29; Beverlyn Medina, 26; and her husband Regie, 29; all residents of Barangay Mambaling. Cebu City Police Station 10 chief Maj. Henrix Bancoleta said an undercover police officer bought a large pack of shabu for P40,000 from Benerando inside their two-story house in Sitio Viking at about 12:30 a.m. Police seized from Benerando 53 more large packs of shabu placed inside a black bag. The seized banned substance which weighed 1.35 kilograms has an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P9.180 million. Bancoleta told The Manila Times Benerando has been engaged in the illegal trade for a year in Central Visayas.
