Gavino, Caballes shine in 30th Durian Tee Invitational


Jing Gavino bagged the overall gross diadem while Dondon Caballes copped the overall net plum in the 30th Durian Tee Invitational tournament on August 14 to 17 at the Apo Golf and Country Club in Davao City.

Gavino registered the lowest gross with 70 while Caballes shot an 86 net.

Allan Mathew Guy became the Class A gross champion after scoring a 66 followed by Martin Castilo and Joel Yamyamin, who scored identical 62s, were the second and third placers, respectively.

Vince Arcenas emerged net champion after finishing with with a 73, beating Leo Yap by two strokes at 71.

In Class B, Rene Diago copped the gross crown with a 60 while Alro Paglinawan took the net trophy with an 81.

Jessie Afinidad shone in Class C with an 85 net, beating Larry Abalos and Thirdee Duay, who shot an 82 an an 81, respectively. Jerry Campaner bagged the gross title with a 44.

Osamu Ikeda (52 gross) and Salvador Sandoval (78 net) were the top finishers in the seniors division .

Rutchie Albers (48) was the gross champion and Victoria Brias (74) was the net champion in the ladies division.

The pair of Vincent Gumapac and Ninot Galicia emerged team gross champion while the duo of Mike Zurita and Benhur Villarosa was the net champion.
