Team IMG dominates Highlander Open


Team IMG scored 413 points to top the inaugural Highlander Open on August 15 and 16 at the Tagaytay Midlands and Highlands courses.

The IMG team banked on a solid opening of 212 at the Midlands, anchored on Jolo Magcalayo’s three-under 69 for 57 points.

Ryan Monsalve contributed 55 points, Jude Eustaquio 52 points, and Ray Sangil 48 points in the five-to-play, four-to-count format tourney.

The team, led by Magcalayo anew, finished with a 201 in the up-and-down Highlands layout. Magcalayo posted 53, Sangil and Eustaquio chipped in 50 each, and Monsalve, 48.

IMG defeated Ech Fuel-De La Salle Zobel (404) by nine points. Team X1-R and SPES 1 finished second and third with 390 and 381, respectively.

Kaiser topped Division 1 with a 379 — 25 points ahead of second placer SPES 2 (354).


Benlife ruled the second division with 315 — seven-points ahead of Askal Boys (308) and eight points ahead of Highlands Premier Cru (307).

The top finishers in Division 3 were Hueves Golf (271), Dazmanian Holers (233) and Lipa 1 (229).
