THE Quezon City (QC) government has issued notices of violations to some Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) in the city for failing to comply with local requirements.
Mayor Josefina Belmonte led an inspection of POGO hubs on Friday night amid reports that those operating in Eastwood lacked mandatory documents such as location clearance, sanitary permit, environmental clearance and occupational permits of employees despite having business permits.
Among these POGOs that failed to comply were Omniworld Enterprise Inc., Singtech Enterprise Inc. and Great Empire Gaming and Amusement Corp. The companies were given 15 days to comply with the requirements.
The mayor said although Quezon City seeks to be a preferred destination for investment and businesses, these businesses should comply with the city’s rules and regulations lest they face the consequences.
“Hindi natin maaaring isantabi o di kaya’y palusutin ang mga patakaran ng lungsod dahil mahuhuli at mahuhuli namin kayo (We must not set aside or give leeway to city regulations because you will eventually be caught),” Belmonte said in a statement.
