Zambales rape-slay suspect killed in Pampanga


MABALACAT, Pampanga: A robbery and homicide suspect was killed here on Thursday after he opened fire on police planning to serve his warrant of arrest.

Samuel V. Percian, prime suspect behind the rape and killing of Carmela Catindig, a 30-year-old factory worker in Subic, Zambales last August 20, was killed at about 1:35 p.m. in his hideout by elements of the Mabalacat Community Police Station and Zambales Provincial Police Office.
He died on the spot, said Lt. Col. Jerry Corpuz,  Mabalacat police chief.
Police said aside from the rape-slay of Catindig, Percian was also a suspect in the robbery of a Shell Gas Station in Angeles City, a Western Union branch in San Felipe, Zambales, and an LBC branch in Olongapo City.Police operatives recovered a .38 revolver and a black Kymco motorcycle from the suspect.
