DTI explores new markets for PH exports

The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) has started exploring emerging markets in Africa, South Asia, Central Asia and Eastern Europe in a bid to expand the reach of Philippine exports. In a statement on Thursday, the bureau said these “markets were chosen based on the country’s economic growth, gross domestic product per capita, population, ease of doing business, political climate, and the Philippines’ trade and foreign policy directives.” EMB, together with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Mexico, recently organized an outbound business matching mission to the North American country, and is setting its sights on missions to other countries, including India, Bangladesh, Russia, Egypt, and Ethiopia.
