ARMY SOLDIER WOUNDED IN SAYYAF ATTACK

ZAMBOANGA CITY: Abu Sayyaf terrorists ambushed Friday a group of soldiers escorting government teachers in Sulu, reports said. One Army soldier was wounded in the attack after militants fired rifle grenades in the village called Kadday Mampallam. There were no reports of civilian casualties, but the ambush was the second this month. The Western Mindanao Command and the town’s officials did not release any statement in the latest attack. Patikul is a known stronghold of Abu Sayyaf, whose leaders have pledged allegiance to Islamic State.
