LAWMAKER WANTS SALARY INCREASE FOR NEW TEACHERS

BULUAN, Maguindanao: A Maguindanao member of the House of Representatives has filed a bill proposing an increase in salary for new teachers from P19,077 to P36,409 monthly. Rep. Esmael Mangudadatu on Friday said House Bill 3539 is a good investment for quality education that Filipinos need across the country, particularly the impoverished children in remote areas. Mangudadatu said new public school teachers only receive a government salary grade 11 or P19,077 monthly. “It has to be upgraded from salary grade 11 to salary grade 19, or P36,409 monthly,”Mangudadatu said.
