RORO SHIP TILTS oN CEBU ISLAND

CEBU CITY: A roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel tilted on its starboard side while in the process of unloading cargoes and passengers in the port of Consuelo in Camotes Island, Cebu province on Saturday. Ltjg. Michael Encina, Philippine Coast Guard Cebu spokesman, said the incident happened a few minutes after MV Mika Mari 8 of Jomalia Shipping Corp. arrived in Consuelo Port at 2:27 p.m. Encina said a 10-wheeler truck was maneuvering to disembark when it suffered a transmission problem that led the vessel to tilt on its starboard side. The RoRo vessel eventually left the port of Danao City about 11:45 a.m. The vessel was also bound for Camotes Island.
