THE Maritime Movement Philippine (MMP) in cooperation with the Office of the President’s National Coast Watch Center will hold the first-ever National Marine Summit this October 2-3 to be highlighted by the signing of an Executive Order adopting the revised National Marine Policy by President Rodrigo Duterte himself.
The First National Marine Summit will serve as a prelude to the Integrated Intermodal Transport Summit to be held this year as well.
The summit is intended to engage the participation of all relevant stakeholders of the three (3) major sectors of the country namely Coastal Development and Tourism; Marine Research and the Maritime Industry.
The summit’s theme is Maritime Philippines: Harnessing Opportunities of a Blue Economy “Achieving a Sustainable Socio-Economic Growth and National security” and will be held on October 2 and 3 at the Pandanggo –Polkabal Hall of the Manila Hotel.
MMP is an umbrella organization that convenes various maritime stakeholder organizations and non-government entities to promote and advocate for sustainable developments and management of the Philippine maritime assets.
The group has been working with various government agencies on maritime awareness advocacies and is partnering this year with the Office of the President’s National Coast Watch Council.
