LISTED AboitizPower Corp. is set to remit a total of P38.4 million to communities that host some of its power plants after its subsidiaries late last week signed agreements on this move with the local government units (LGUs) of Navotas City and the provinces of Batangas, Laguna, Benguet and Isabela.
According to the power arm of Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), its units AP Renewables Inc. MakBan, Therma Mobile Inc. and SN Aboitiz Power would turn over P26.6 million, P1.3 million and P10.5 million, respectively, to their host communities under these deals that are stipulated in revised policies issued by the Department of Energy.
