A well-loved lifestyle and leisure destination at Ortigas Center proudly unveiled its expanded areas on Tuesday. Guests led by Singaporean President Halimah Yacob were very impressed by the outcome of this landmark venture between BDO Unibank and Singapore’s Keppel Land Limited, which will definitely redefine comfort and luxury in the mall via its sleek, sophisticated design and extraordinary selection of retail, dining, wellness, and leisure offerings.

Cubi, the iconic sculpture by Philippine National Artist Arturo Luz, was originally commissioned for a modernist building designed by National Artist Leandro Locsin for Benguet Corporation. It was a prominent presence in the Ortigas district in the 1980s and continues to be an attraction in the Podium Complex.

Luxe retail therapy awaits. It’s all about the latest in fashion, beauty, and jewelry. The upscale multi-brand lifestyle shops include Assembly, Cul de Sac, and @ Tokyo, which offers a uniquely Japanese shopping experience with its row of stores laid out like a shopping street in Tokyo. Luxury timepieces and accessories can be found in Omega, Breitling, Swarovski, and soon to open Rolex stores; while Dior, Estee Lauder, Kiehl’s, and Jo Malone lead the way in beauty and fragrance.

It houses a cluster of prestige wellness services. There are many ways to stay fit and fab at The Podium. Electric Studio is Manila’s first indoor cycling boutique, Options Studio is Asia’s premier Pilates and movement center, while Yoga+ is a holistic wellness center and studio. Kinetix Lab is a premium strength and conditioning facility, while The Spa and Barre 3 offers complete wellness services.

There’s even more to discover around the complex, starting with the iconic Cubi, a metal sculpture by National Artist Arturo Luz, which is geometric in form, commanding in its stature, and yet buoyant in space. A prominent presence in the Ortigas district in the 1980s, it was originally commissioned for a modernist building designed by National Artist Leandro Locsin for Benguet Corporation. Today, it continues to be an attraction as a centerpiece that ties together the different elements of the complex.

The BDO Corporate Tower is also side-by-side with the complex. A sleek 48-storey high rise with a cross shaped, symmetrical plan, it provides a maximum number of corner office spaces overlooking the Ortigas and ADB District. It also brings BDO’s wide range of corporate and retail banking services closer to those living, working, and shopping in the area.

Finally, the Podium West Tower is located on top of the five-storey mall, the 48 storey high rise is intended to both contrast and complement the BDO Tower. While the BDO Tower is straight, orthogonal and very masculine in appearance, the new tower has chamfered, curved corners that create an hour-glass in profile, and evoke a harmonious whole.
