Rains continued to pour over most parts of the country as Tropical Depression “Marilyn” slowed down and enhanced the southwest monsoon or habagat on Friday, the state-run weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted Marilyn at 1,045 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes. It has maintained its strength, carrying maximum sustained winds 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness of up to 70 kph. It was moving northwest and has slowed down at 10 kph from its 20-kph speed earlier.
