Duathlon standout Joey Delos Reyes and former national duathlon champion Alexandra Ganzon registered the fastest time records in their respective classes in the Alviera Bike King Duathlon held recently at Alviera in Porac, Pampanga.

Delos Reyes, winner of the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Bike King Duathlon series, finished the long distance 6-kilometer run — 60km bike — and 4km run event in two hours, 13 minutes and 20 seconds to capture the Male 30-34 age-group title. A few minutes later, Male 25-29 entries Jarwyn Banatao and Cipriane John Topia crossed the finish line at 2:16:02 and 2:16:03, respectively.

Delos Reyes narrated he’s cruising with a teammate along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) but when his teammate suffered a flat tire, he pulled away and maintained his lead until the end.

Ganzon ruled the Female 30-34 category with a time record of of 2:34:40. Female 35-39 champion Bubbles Paraiso came in next at 3:09:07.

The event was supported by Alviera, NLEX-SCTEX Metro Pacific Tollways, Standard Insurance, with official timing partner Garmin, Smart, and Hydration partners POCARI Sweat and Sip Purified Water.

The top finishers in the male sprint distance contest were Reymart Songo with 1:14:45 (20-29), Irienold Reig, Jr. with 1:14:50 (15-19) and second placer Richard Anson Navo with 1:15:27 (15-19).

The female sprint distance champions were Erica Bulatao with 1:30:54 (15-19), Bic Ferreria with 1:37:33 (40-49) and Aira Lourdes Lopez with 1:39:56 (20-29).

“We are happy that even though Alviera is located quite far away from Metro Manila, a lot of participants invited by Bike King arrived and went on to race and have a good time,” said Alviera estate manager Aris Pangilinan. Pangilinan and Jenny Chico of NLEX-SCTEX graced the awarding ceremony.

Close to 500 participants joined the event hosted by Alviera. For complete results, visit
