MVP apologizes to Filipino
hoops fans over Gilas debacle

SAMAHANG Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Chairman emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan apologized to the basketball-crazy Filipinos on Tuesday after the Gilas Pilipinas debacle in the recent 2019 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup.

“It is done so we should asses what happened and learned from there. I think what I can say is we would like to really express our apology to the Filipino people. We are part of that,” Pangilinan told reporters after arriving from China at the Café Manila at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Parañaque City.

“I think it is our duty to apologize to our people about that performance.”

Gilas Pilipinas went home without win in five games in the World Cup.
