Without a scintilla of doubt, GMA Network seems to have so much faith in Super Tekla that its film arm GMA Pictures had a hand in his solo movie titled “Kiko En Lala” produced by Backyard Productions.
The gay TV host-comedian, who got discovered on “Wowowin” by no less than Willie Revillame, portrays a dual role (hence the title), a character played many times over.
GMA Pictures is confident that the fledgling film company was never amiss in its choice of business partner as it sees box office potential in the Super Tekla starrer.
Needless to say, GMA Pictures must have been inspired by the ratings of Super Tekla’s Sunday late-night comedy-talk show “The Boobay and Tekla Show,” often edging out Vice Ganda’s “Gandang Gabi Vice” in the the surveys.
How lucky can the proud TV star get. Super Tekla must be the object of Boobay’s envy.
We can imagine though how anxiety is almost killing him as his launching pad opens tomorrow. A make-or-break project, its box office outcome will determine if he’s worth the gamble.
Unlike Vice Ganda, Super Tekla has a lot to prove to merit a takilya attraction award. But first things first, he needs to brush up further on his hosting skills as his pranks at times aren’t funny as they are intended to be.
“Super Tekla lacks wit compared to Vice Ganda,” a viewer-friend declares.

GUESS WHO? It’s pretty much understandable why this swashbuckling actor (SA) isn’t as active in doing movies as he was before.
“Why work when he’s identified with a top government official (TGO) who he escorts anywhere and anytime, at functions whether official or otherwise?” our source said.
TGO was invited once as keynote speaker to an event. He immediately had a fitting speech done by his pool of writers, but only chose the best piece.
By whatever means was SA able to get hold a copy of the approved speech which was written in Taglish. Unknown to TGO, SA did heavy editing on the manuscript.
Came the event, TGO went up the rostrum but noticed that it wasn’t the speech he had earlier selected to deliver. Just the same, he read it but fumbled many times over.
TGO had to wait until he got to his office the next day. He summoned all his speech writers as he angrily asked who should take responsibility for his near-embarrassing experience.
SA was around but wasn’t brave enough to own up to his deed.

This veteran actress (VA) reportedly begrudges a popular action star (PAA) for discourtesy.
It was at the wake of a senior colleague where VA and PAA met by chance. “Ni hindi man lang nag-good evening si PAA nung madaanan niya si VA,” our source revealed.
However, someone close to VA understood PAA’s behavior whether it was deliberate or not.
“He must be ashamed to see VA around. Did you know that he still owes VA’s late husband much money? Nakamatayan na nga nung tao yung utang ni PAA sa kanya!”
Hardly does our source remember any movie in which VA’s husband and PAA were together, “In fairness, PAA had never played sidekick to VA’s legendary husband.”
