CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City: San Pablo City police are following several leads to determine who are behind the alleged hazing of a student of Laguna State Polytechnic University (LPSU) in this city Thursday last week.
Lt. Col. Eliseo Bernales, San Pablo City chief of police said, they already had the names of the suspects who are members of a fraternity that the victim — Jonathan Concordia — had joined.
Bernales added that they were closely coordinating with school authorities to identify other members of the fraternity.
Concordia, a freshman criminology student, was brought to a hospital in Manila where he is undergoing treatment for injuries that could have resulted from the alleged hazing.
According to the police’s initial investigation, Concordia suddenly collapsed at the LPSU located in Barangay Del Remedio, San Pablo City, on Thursday night.
Concordia was then transferred to the Chinese General Hospital in Manila after physicians found he has hematoma on his legs as well as burns from candle wax on his back.
Prior to this, police said the criminology student was also brought to a hospital last September 24 because of injuries he suffered from a supposed “cerebrovascular” accident.
