20 kangaroos killed in hit and run

As many as 20 kangaroos are believed to have been run over by a vehicle in a mass slaughter in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW). The kangaroos — including baby joeys — were killed late Saturday local time in rural Tura Beach, on the state’s South Coast, NSW police authorities said in a statement. Many of the animals were found on the front lawns of residents’ homes the next morning, according to news reports.
