The Emergency/Disaster Management Award was given to Bacoor City because of its very proactive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office. Bacoor is the first city to establish its own fully trained Incident Management Team in Calabarzon.

Rean May Ybon, Inventor of MX3, Dante Francis Ang II and Blanca Mercado of The Manila Times, give the award to Bacoor City’s Representative Jerome Oliveros.

This award-winning city in terms of disaster management practices the four thematic areas of DRRM, and holds its inter-barangay rescue olympics, trainings for the youth and the adults. It also conducted its weather and flood monitoring during heavy rains, and prepares the evacuation areas for its residents.
