HONG KONG: Tokyo shares hit a 15-month low on Tuesday because of the soaring yen as markets around Asia mostly dropped on fears of a double-dip recession in leading economies.
The Japanese unit jumped to its highest level against the euro in almost nine years as global economic jitters sent dealers running for a safe haven.
