Sandiganbayan sets Enrile plunder trial in Nov

THE trial of former senator Juan Ponce Enrile and others for plunder in connection with the alleged misuse of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel scam will resume in November.

The Sandiganbayan’s Third Division on Wednesday tentatively set the resumption of the trial on November 26 and 27 from October 15 after Enrile’s camp filed a motion for its deferment, to which the prosecution did not object.

The court gave Enrile’s camp until last Monday to submit additional stipulations.

The court has yet to issue a pretrial order that would contain the number of hearing dates, the documentary evidence and witnesses to be presented, and issues to be resolved during trial. REINA C. TOLENTINO
