WITH still a month to go before year-end, global deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) already breached the 1-million mark, the first time in the country’s overseas employment history.

Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) records show that 1,011,148 land-based and sea-based OFWs were deployed from January 1 to November 21, 2006.
