BUTUAN CITY: Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante Jr. declared the cancellation of classes at all levels in all public and private schools in Butuan City effective effective Thursday (Nov 7) until Friday following the recommendation from the Caraga regional disaster risk reduction management council and the state weather bureau.

The mayor said the suspension of classes at all levels is "a preemptive measure" as the city prepares against the effects of Super Typhoon "Yolanda" (International name "Hainan") which is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Thursday morning.
