FAST on the heels of the damning of the wang wang as socially oppressive, the new administration is being advised to advance its wang wang ban a few steps farther by quickly rolling out a larger network of public surveillance cameras to rigorously enforce traffic rules and fight crime.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) should put together a more extensive closed-circuit TV (CCTV) surveillance system in major thoroughfares and key public places, explains Cavite Rep. Elpidio Barzaga.
