The operations of Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT 1) have been extended to accommodate the surge of commuters during the Chrismas season.
Starting Oct. 25 to Dec. 31, 2019, the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) said the last trip on weekdays would leave the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., respectively.
On weekends, the last train from Baclaran would depart at 9:30 p.m., while the train from Roosevelt would leave at 9:45 p.m.
“We are extending the LRT 1 operating hours to accommodate the influx of passengers during the holiday rush,” LRMC Chief Operating Officer Enrico Benipayo said in a statement.
The railway’s first trips, on the other hand, would run on its normal schedule at 4:30 a.m.
But operations on December 24 and 31 would only be until 8 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, for both southbound and northbound routes.
The firm also announced that LRT 1 would be operating on December 25 and January 1.
