Mayor Olivarez reports State of Barangays in Parañaque

 

Parañaque City Mayor Olivarez in his speech, disclosed that almost all to 16 barangays in the city have complied with the law requiring local barangay captains to conduct a Barangay assembly day at Monday’s Flag Raising Ceremony, October 28, in Parañaque City.

Mayor Olivarez was referring to RA 7160 or the Local Government Code that requires the conduct of barangay assembly every six months of the year, especially during the month of October or March of the succeeding year for the residents hear the semestral report of their respective Punong Barangays concerning plans and programs, finances as well as problems affecting the local communities. Olivarez added that the said State of Barangay Address (SOBA) also highlights the existing and new barangay ordinances as well as national laws and city ordinances and the development of their combined effort (City and Barangays) in fighting illicit drugs.


Olivarez in no time proudly announced that of the 16 barangays comprising District 1 and 2, 6 barangays have already been declared as drug free by PDEA and the PNP.
