MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) will raise its rates by P0.4717 per kilowatt hour (kWh) in November, a month after implementing a slight adjustment.

In a statement on Thursday, Meralco said the adjustment brings overall prices to P9.5579  per kWh this month from P9.0862 per kWh in October.

Households that consume 200 kWh will have an increase of P94.34 in their monthly bill; a 300-kWh consumption, P141.51; 400 kWh, P188.68; and 500 kWh, P235.85.

“Despite the adjustment, electricity rates this month are still almost P1 per kWh lower than in April 2019,” Meralco said. JORDEENE B. LAGARE
