Duterte plan on plastic ban welcomed

THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and several environmental groups have welcomed President Rodrigo Duterte’s recent pronouncement regarding the possibility of banning plastics in the country.

At the sidelines of a mining event on Friday in Quezon City, DENR Undersecretary Annaliza Rebulta Teh told reporters: “It’s a good move. It (single-use plastics) is a huge problem.”
