The Philippines’ third richest tycoon, John Gokongwei Jr. passed away on Saturday night at the age of 93.

His son Lance confirmed that Gokongwei died at the Manila Doctor’s Hospital.


The founder of JG Summit Holdings Inc., one of the country’s top conglomerates, was the third richest Filipino according to Forbes magazine’s “2019 Forbes Philippines Rich,” with a net worth of $5.3 billion. Tyrone Jasper Piad
