Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua bids Cayetano farewell


Chinese Amba­ssador to the Phili­ppines Zhao Jianhua made an official visit to the office of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano to bid a fond farewell to the former Foreign Affairs Secretary.

The outgoing ambassador expressed his gratitude to Cayetano on November 4 for his important contribution to strengthening the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. He said that parliamentary exchanges served as an important way to deepen the bilateral relations and the friendship between the two peoples.
He added that China was committed to further promote the parliamentary exchanges and interaction between the two countries, so as to constantly enrich China-Philippines Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation relationship.
Speaker Cayetano said that Philippine House of Representatives thought highly of developing friendly exchanges and cooperation with Chinese legislature and hoped to learn from Chinese successful experience of governance and legislation. He also sent Ambassador Zhao appreciation on his contribution to promoting the development of the Philippines-China friendly relations and deepening the cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries, while wished Ambassador Zhao all the success in the future.
Before the meeting, the Philippine House of the Representatives passed Resolution No. 474 introduced by Speaker Cayetano, honoring the work and contribution of Ambassador Zhao in fostering stronger Philippines-China bilateral relations and conferring upon him the Congressional Medal of Achievement.
